School Workshops

Rochelle uses a dynamic, interactive and participatory approach, to weave stories about nature and the environment into the themes presented in her books. But Rochelle doesn’t just present the issues; she also offers her audience hope and a vision for the future. In doing so, she empowers students to take actions to protect the planet. A full-group activity provides audiences with a strong visual, proving that each one of them has the power to change the world.

Workshops are designed for students in grades 4-8. They are approximately an hour in length and the audience size can be as small as a single class or as large as 100 students.

Rochelle’s workshops link to curriculum topics such as:

  • Diversity
  • Ecosystems
  • Habitats and communities
  • Conservation
  • Endangered species
  • Water systems
  • Natural resources
  • Weather
  • Geography
